One very potent way to cure leaky gut syndrome is through a proper diet. It works by eliminating certain foods in the food list, which eventually triggers the start of the healing process. If done properly, the success rate is said to be phenomenal, seeing benefits in as short a time as one month.

The intestines or simply the gut is the narrow channel connecting the stomach to the anus. In a healthy gut, toxins, bacteria and food materials are contained, eradicated and expelled. Leaky gut syndrome occurs if any of these elements pass through the intestinal wall and enter into the bloodstream.

What happens next is more than the usual order. The antibodies identify and attack these “unidentified” elements because they should not be there in your bloodstream in the first place. Leaking food particles will end with the same fate. The only problem is that when you eat these same foods again, your body senses the “intrusion” that we see as allergies and food sensitivities.

You don’t want to see red patches every time you eat chicken, right? Therefore, you start to avoid chicken altogether because you knew this would happen again. Lots of people do this to manage allergy issues. You, on the other hand, should avoid your own triggers which could be anything from vegetables, fruits, corn, papaya, pineapple, peppers, potatoes and so forth.

If you develop allergic reactions to dairy products, eggs, barley, flour, bread, spelt, oats and millet, avoid them as well. Sensitivity to caffeine, honey, chocolate, beans, vanilla extract, peanuts, vinegar and mushroom is also very much possible. We could go on forever, identifying what foods to avoid and those that are safe to consume.

Those listed above are not necessarily trigger foods because each person reacts differently to the next. It’s better to identify your own, make a list and avoid them at all cost. However, if there are trigger foods, there are also safe foods such as avocados, pears, Brussels sprouts, nectarines, cherries, spinach, grapes, figs and berries. You can also add lettuce, apples and apricots in your daily menu too.

Pumpkin seeds, bok choy, parsnips, pine nuts, brown and wild rice, cilantro, sprouts, sunflower seeds, dandelion greens and kale are a must when you start your one-month healing journey. Right after the first month, you can now add chicken, fish and turkey in your food cart. The safest way is to add one food item at a time, wait for 3 days to see if there are appalling issues. If none, add another one and so on. Go for bananas, beans, pineapples and nightshade vegetables and all those you previously listed as triggers.

Bloating, cramping and other intestinal discomforts are pretty common in leaky gut syndrome. All these can be eliminated if you follow the diet suggestion religiously. If you allow you body to recuperate, you will soon be able to narrow down just one or two food groups instead of eliminating a whole bunch unnecessarily.

It has been proven that leaky gut syndrome can actually cause Candida. The leaky gut syndrome happens if the intestines are irritated or inflamed. After which, the digestive system will not be able to perform its basic functions properly. Harmful toxins and bacteria could leak to the bloodstream, affecting the functions of the other bodily organs.

It’s the job of the immune system to police the body against malicious attacks from these elements. The magnitude of toxins that are present in the system will eventually tire and exhaust our immunity level. And like humans, being overworked will result to poor and inefficient functioning. A vulnerable immune system means more prone to Candida infection.

In most medical schools, leaky gut syndrome may not be recognized because most of its symptoms resemble that of other common illnesses. Still, few doctors could differentiate these differences. Among other symptoms that can be experienced when suffering from leaky gut syndrome are muscle cramps, gluten intolerance and other sensitivities.

Candida is a fungus having a little presence in our system and therefore insignificant in causing various infections. However, when the difference between bad bacteria and good bacteria is disturbed, Candida fungi start to cause certain issues inside the digestive tract.

As often the case, antibiotics are the ones that cause the imbalance between these intestinal microbes. Antibiotics often fail to recognize the good and bad bacteria in the intestines. Because of this, the body is more prone to parasites, fungi and other bacteria attacks. There is a tendency that the good bacteria inside the body are attacked, leaving the body vulnerable to subsequent infections. This is when the thriving of Candida microbe becomes aggressive, thus resulting in various diseases, inflammations and irritations of the body.

As soon as there is enough Candida to thrive inside the body, it becomes persistent and counterproductive. When this happens, the mucous membrane and intestinal walls are swarmed, causing severe or crucial damage to the villi, the small, finger-like protrusions on the intestines. Thus, particles from undigested food and other toxins and bacteria are absorbed through the bloodstream, causing leaky gut syndrome. Because of the presence of the toxins in the bloodstream, a person will feel a dramatic weakening of the body as the immune system crashes down. What’s even worse is that certain brain functions may be affected as well.

Candida symptoms include the following: gastrointestinal issues such as abdominal bloating, diarrhea and constipation, insomnia, anxiety, depression and mood swings. There are other prevalent symptoms such as chronic vaginal infections, food sensitivities, pre-menstrual syndrome and low sugar level.

It is not surprising to find out that most doctors would not be able to diagnose leaky gut syndrome. This is due to the numerous manifestations of the said syndrome, making it difficult to categorize as a leaky gut syndrome. Often times, connecting one of its symptoms to another is difficult as individual treatment for every symptom is needed.

Leaky gut syndrome causes the inflammation of the intestinal lining, thus also called increased intestinal permeability. As soon as the intestines become irritated, disturbed functioning of the digestive system could occur. The “leaking” of harmful toxins will soon follow. Harmful toxins in the form of bacteria, parasites, undigested protein, fungi and fat into the bloodstream.

Once these toxins pass through the bloodstream, the body will be triggered to an autoimmune reaction. This means the body will attack its own cells, causing gastrointestinal issues like bloating, cramping and excess gas. Others have also complained about experiencing heartburn, diarrhea and indigestion. The toxins will later infiltrate the organs and more serious implications develop. The affected organs gradually degenerate resulting to other related ailments such as kidney disease, Candida, fibromyalgia, arthritis and acne.

The liver is among the first organs affected by the syndrome. When toxins enter the bloodstream, it is the work of the liver to flush them out of the body. The more toxins, the more work it is for the liver. Thus, if untreated, the liver might not function properly. The same thing also happens to the body’s immune system. An overworked immune system leads to exhaustion and inability to function properly.

Leaky gut syndrome also negatively affects the function of the adrenal glands located on top of the kidneys. The adrenal glands assist in fighting body infections but due to leaky gut syndrome, the glands might experience what is called adrenal fatigue causing poor digestion, lack of concentration and poor stress management.

The symptoms may be hard to direct to leaky gut syndrome. However, understanding what happens inside the body is more than enough to help you cope up. And as soon as the diagnosis is clear, it would be easier to treat the unwanted indications of leaky gut syndrome. It is important as well to get an accurate diagnosis as it allows you to target the symptoms and its roots at the base level. Remember, it is more difficult to treat the problems when it has already worsened. Proper health care should not be neglected, thus professional and personal health care is necessary.

As they say, health is wealth and we do everything to keep it that way. However, our health and well-being are constantly being threatened by mental disorders, chronic diseases and illnesses. Leaky gut syndrome is one of them. If you are dealing with its unwelcoming symptoms, worry no more as solutions have been discovered.

Most people believed that the best way to treat a condition has always been the natural methods. Leaky gut syndrome is not excluded. It can be cured by some powerful herbs which have been proven effective long before by the ancient people.

Among the most effective herb in treating leaky gut syndrome is the slippery elm. This is particularly effective as it reduces inflammations. It also cures boils, burns and minor wounds. Slippery elm performs best when taken internally. Present in slippery elm is mucilage, a gel-transforming substance that coats the irritated part of the body (in this case, the intestinal linings). It also has an antioxidant property.

Another herbal option for leaky gut treatment is peppermint tea. It is a popular stomach relief herb because of its calming property. To add to this, peppermint tea also helps fight some bad bacteria, thus helping to reduce the infections in the bloodstream as caused by the “leak.”

Chamomile tea is yet another cure for leaky gut syndrome. Some of the most painful symptoms of the syndrome are negated by chamomile tea, reducing bloating, pain, cramps, and excessive gas. Chamomile tea also helps relax the body. It is ideal for those with leaky gut syndrome as anxiety and stress are reduced.

Marshmallow root can also be added to the list of natural remedies for leaky gut syndrome. This certain herb has a special property suitable for treating leaky gut syndrome. It helps in soothing the mucous membrane that has been irritated due to the syndrome. Many famous health food shops and stalls carry this herb as it has been proven to have wonderful healing of the digestive tract.

Most herb specialists would highly recommend Echinacea as it does not only treat leaky gut syndrome but many other ailments. It is powerful enough to treat scarlet fever, as well as serious blood poisoning, malaria and even diphtheria to name a few. Echinacea herb has the property to give an extra boost of strength to the immune system, thus inflammation is easily reduced and fought. Echinacea also has antioxidants.

The goldenseal can be included to the herb specialists’ favorite herbs. Most digestive problems including the leaky gut syndrome are resolved by using goldenseal. However, because of its popularity, this particular herb has become endangered.

We all know it. Processed foods are among America’s all time stomach fillers. And we also know by a fact that processed foods cause bowel problems. Though not all bacteria are considered bad, processed foods actually flush away all these tummy-friendly bacteria, leaving an unhealthy digestive tract.

Digestion does not start inside the stomach, rather, from the food that is taken into the body. Once the food passes the stomach, it goes straight to the small intestine, where food nutrients are absorbed and large intestines, where unwanted water is taken up. Be aware of the fact that the good and the bad bacteria harmoniously reside in the digestive tract, as they are both essential in keeping the balance of the system. Digestion of food is possible because of the presence of the good bacteria in our digestive tract. They also act as nutrient and vitamin provider. Bad bacteria only become “bad” when they multiply to an unwanted number, thus causing an imbalance.

This might surprise you but did you know that a healthy bowel comprises both the good and bad bacteria? Too much consumption of processed food disturbs the balance between these two. Processed foods, as well as those with extreme coloring, additives and preservatives upset the digestive area. Add some alcohol, fatty and sugary foods and drugs and you will surely have a not so wanted digestive system.

The use of antibiotics will also lead to the same result. Antibiotics simply attack bacteria, regardless of whether they are good or not. Thus, when too much of the good bacteria are wiped out, the intestinal lining gets irritated, causing an unwanted inflammation. This is what we call the leaky gut syndrome.

When the intestinal lining gets too much irritated and inflamed, it “crashes” from proper functioning, allowing leakage of parasites, bad bacteria, fat and other waste products. Among the signs of having the leaky gut syndrome are the following: indigestion, constipation, excessive gas, heartburn and many others. In addition, the bloodstream is infected with toxins, risking the body’s vital organs.

Balance can be restored inside your digestive tract as simple as taking the right diet and food supplements that contain probiotics. For instance, several probiotics-enriched milk drinks are available in your local grocery shops. Having said that, it’s important to keep this balance for your health and general well-being.

Many of us think that doctors know all the syndromes. However, leaky gut syndrome is excluded from most of our doctors’ knowledge. This is because some health professionals do not consider this syndrome as a major health concern.

For the record, leaky gut syndrome, also called increased intestinal permeability, is a case of inflamed and irritated intestinal lining. Because of this, the intestines cannot properly function, thus resulting to damaged intestinal walls. This will result to toxins such as fungi, undigested food particles and fat being leaked into the bloodstream.

The body responds to this as an autoimmune action. A person may experience allergic reaction to food because of the leakage. The body will first attack some food particles and when the same food is taken, it automatically categorizes it as an enemy, thus responding to the food again.

The immune system also has the tendency to be overworked due to the constant autoimmune response. An overworked immune system would cause to a person’s exhaustion, tiring sleep, poor digestion and lack of focus to name some. Seventy percent of it is located inside and near the digestive system and this is called the gut-associated lymphatic tissues or simply GALT.

The tissues can be found in the intestinal mucus and digestive tract linings. It is also believed that the naturally occurring autoimmune response of the body leads to symptoms of leaky gut syndrome. Among these symptoms are abdominal bloating, cramps and excess gas.

Leaky gut syndrome also shows apparent symptoms outside the digestive tract. More often than not, people suffering from the syndrome also experience periodic vaginal and bladder infections, as well as intolerance to gluten, fibromyalgia, chronic muscle and joint pains, bed wetting, skin rashes, pancreatitis and worse, cancer.

When diagnosed to have leaky gut syndrome, you should immediately do some necessary actions to fight the syndrome and its adverse effects to the body. For most people, regulating what they eat is the best and most effective way to fight leaky gut syndrome.

Some foods are just not good for the body especially those who suffer from the said syndrome, thus must avoid fruits like strawberries, grapes, bananas, apples and other citrus fruits. In addition, dairy products and food containing yeast must be avoided to shun the unwanted syndrome.

Caffeine, carrots, chocolates, spinach, peanuts, lettuce, figs, pumpkin seeds, wild and brown rice and apricots should also be added to the “not to eat” list. Take note that food started the leaky gut syndrome thus food regulation must also be done.
